Day 6 Puerto Caldera (Costa Rica)

Our first stop on our tour today is to see these capuchin monkeys.

Next we went to a shop to try fruit and cane juice.

We had a demonstration of how the juice is extracted by crushing the cane.

We were in a boat like this while we were on the river tour.

After lunch we went to a hotel to be shown round the gardens. These leafcutter ants were crossing the path.

Day 7 Corinto (Nicaragua)

A bicycle tour round Corinto.

There were several of these manicured trees on the streets.

This is a beach where the erosion is a problem.

Day 8 Puerto Quetzal (Guatemala)

Just before we reached Iximche we drove through the town of Tecpan on market day.

When we arrived at Iximche our guide gave us an introduction to the Mayan writing and number system.

Day 9 Playa Santa Cruz (Mexico)

Playa Santa Cruz is a beach town so a little walk round the streets was all we did. It was very hot. These are photos of the beach and town.

Day 12 Cabo San Lucas (Mexico)

We called into this bar to have a lemonade and use the free wifi.

Day 15 San Francisco

11 May

An early start today to be on deck to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge.

After lunch we decided to walk up telegraph hill to the Coit tower.

These are some of the stairs we had to climb.

On the way up we were able to see our ship.

At the top at last. The Coit tower built between 1932 and 1933 using Lillie Hitchcock Coit's bequest to beautify the city of San Francisco.

Day 18 Vancouver (Canada)

We chose to do our HoHo tour of Vancouver in this type of bus..

Vancouver's Girl In A Wetsuit. On the north side of Stanley Park.

We're in Gastown now and this is a statue of "Gassy" Jack Deighton. So called because of his habit of talking at length. The area around his saloon was called Gassy's Town.

Day 19 Seattle (USA)

A miserably cold day in Seattle. We took the bus into town but did not stay long.
